A street dealer who stored more than £7,800 in drugs at his mum’s house in Leeds has been jailed.

David Hohlatsjova was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court after pleading guilty to a number of charges, including the supply and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

He was arrested in July this year after police discovered a known suspect was purchasing drugs through the defendant, the court heard.

Prosecutor Hollie Alcock told the court that officers subsequently carried out a raid at the 20-year-old’s mother’s house, which he had recently moved out of.

They found drugs hidden throughout the property, including 124g of cocaine and crack cocaine, and 267g of ketamine - with an overall street value of £7,870.

Hohlatsjova, of no fixed abode, has four convictions for nine previous offences and in January was made subject to a community order over threats to kill and threats to share intimate images against his ex-partner, the court heard.

In mitigation, defence counsel Verity Barnes explained that her client had been a drug user from a young age and had got “mixed up with the wrong crowd.”

She added that the 20-year-old had become involved in the operation having racked up £10,000 of drug debt and had been “sofa surfing” since leaving home.

Judge Simon Batiste sentenced him to three years and three months at a young offenders institution.
