Megan Ritz scored with 2:17 remaining to lift Freeport to a 2-1 win over Winthrop/Maranacook in an interclass field hockey game Friday in Winthrop.

Winthrop/Maranacook (2-1), a perennial Class C contender, took a 1-0 lead in the first quarter when Grace Folsom scored on a penalty stroke.

Dalila McCarthy tied it for Class B powerhouse Freeport (4-0) in the second quarter.

Lydia Costa made nine saves for Freeport, while Cyara Harriman stopped seven shots for the Ramblers.

FALMOUTH 8, SOUTH PORTLAND/WESTBROOK 0: Ani Bush scored three goals, Zoe Thims added two, and the Navigators (2-1) handled the Blazin’ Riots (0-3) in South Portland.

Izzie Camp, Siobhan Nielsen and Elle Clark also scored.

MARSHWOOD 8, DEERING/PORTLAND 2: Hazel Stout and Mya Dulac each recorded a hat trick and Megan Aceto scored twice as the Hawks (3-0) defeated Deering/Portland (0-3) in South Berwick.

THORNTON ACADEMY 3, GORHAM 2: Avery Root scored the eventual winning goal with an assist from Camila Sibille in the second quarter, and the Trojans (2-0) held off the Rams (2-1) in Gorham.

Thornton went ahead 2-0 on goals by Shyla McVeigh and Olivia Lamey in the first quarter.

Sydney Quimby put home a rebound for Gorham in the second quarter, but Root’s goal made it 3-1.

Gorham’s Alyssa Lampen got the final goal, assisted by Hazel Dolley, in the third.

Eva Wandell made 12 saves for Gorham. Thornton’s Aubree Frager stopped three shots.

WAYNFLETE 6, TELSTAR 1: Lela Faulkner and Hunter Murphy each scored two goals to lead the Flyers (3-0) past the Rebels (0-3) in Bethel.

Olivia Rogers and Sabrina Lavallo also scored.

Aleah Davis scored with an assist from Idella Cooley for Telstar. Madelyn Cooley made 27 saves.

GORHAM 5, PORTLAND 1: Moises Ntango and Will Andreasen each tallied two goals, and the Rams (2-1) scored five times in the first half against the Bulldogs (1-2) in Gorham.

Ty Caron also scored and Cohen Landry had two assists. Gorham keepers Corbin Wilson and Nolan Plummer each made three saves.

Charlie Lavertu scored and Mateo Pulaski stopped six shots for Portland.

KENNEBUNK 2, FALMOUTH 0: Chris Thompson scored an unassisted goal in the first half, Max Meads added a second-half goal, and the Rams (2-1) shut out the Navigators (1-2) in Falmouth.

Oliver Bean assisted on Meads’ goal. Griffin Whitney earned the shutout with three saves, while Falmouth keeper Wyatt Binnette stopped four shots.

THORNTON ACADEMY 3, SCARBOROUGH 1: Matthias Sunderlund, Edoardo De Mozzi and Santiago Oilver-Campbell scored, Andres de Haro had two assists, and the Golden Trojans (2-0) downed the Red Storm (1-1-1) in Saco.

Thornton keeper Lucas Stolf stopped five shots.

Trevor Atwood scored and Ben Gorham made 10 saves for Scarborough.

WESTBROOK 2, SANFORD 1: Justin Filiatrault and Mechac Boyilimpo scored and Ahmed Al Obaidi made 10 saves as the Blue Blazes (2-0) defeated the Spartans (0-3) in Sanford.

Ivo Mpeko got the lone goal for Sanford, assisted by Corben Taylor. Spartans keeper Elijah Bowden stopped six shots.

HALL-DALE 3, WAYNFLETE 1: Lexi Tinkham broke a 1-1 halftime tie with two second-half goals, leading the Bulldogs (2-1) to a comeback win over the Flyers (0-2) in Hallowell.

Waynflete’s Audrey Winch scored off a breakaway 26 minutes into the game, and the Flyers held that lead for most of the first half with the help of eight saves from Rachel Yordon.

Hall-Dale finally broke through just 36 seconds before halftime when sophomore fullback Kassidy Benson, celebrating her 16th birthday, scored on a shot from outside the penalty area. Isabel Tinkham assisted on the goal.

Lexi Tinkham put the Bulldogs ahead seven minutes into the second half, then made it 3-1 with 4:05 remaining, assisted by Clare Sturtevant.

Yordon finished with 11 saves. Hall-Dale’s Genevieve Ciccarelli stopped five shots.
