U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Regional Administrator Kevin McOmber and U.S. Rep. Clay Fuller will join state and local officials on Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. at Chickamauga Civic Center, 1817 Lee Clarkson Road in Chickamauga, to highlight $6 million in brownfield funding. 

This investment includes $4 million to City of Chickamauga to clean up the former Crystal Springs Print Works site, so it can be returned to productive reuse; $1.5 million to Northwest Georgia Regional Commission to assess properties for potential redevelopment; and $500,000 to Rome-Floyd County Development Authority to expand the inventory of brownfield sites and assess prospective properties.

Other representatives on hand will include: Jeff Cown, director, Georgia Environmental Protection Division; Evitte Parrish, mayor, City of Chickamauga; Boyd Austin, executive director, Northwest Georgia Regional Commission; and Evie McNiece, board member, Rome Floyd County Development Authority.
