A motorcyclist was killed in a three-vehicle Windham crash Wednesday evening, and one man was arrested for allegedly operating under the influence.

Chad Jordan, of Westbrook, is accused of erratically driving a white GMC pickup truck southbound on Route 302 in Windham when he crashed into a Honda Odyssey that was heading north.

Jordan kept driving south in the northbound lane before hitting a motorcycle, according a news release from the Windham Police Department.

The motorcycle immediately became engulfed in flames, and its driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are withholding the name of the motorcyclist until their family is notified.

Authorities say their initial investigation indicated that Jordan was impaired, which appears to be the primary cause of the crash.

He was taken to the Cumberland County Jail on a charge of operating under the influence, according to Windham police, and is expected to face further charges as the investigation continues.
