The forthcoming winter that may become the worst since 2022 for the European Union will remind again of implications from rejecting Russian energy resources, Special Presidential Envoy for Investment and Economic Cooperation and Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) CEO Kirill Dmitriev.

"The winter is coming. The ‘worst winter since 2022’ that will once again expose EU bureaucrats’ energy suicide of decoupling from Russian energy," he wrote on X.

The European Union could face its worst winter since 2022 amid record high energy prices and potential supply disruptions from the US, EU energy chief Dan Jorgensen said earlier in an interview with the Financial Times.
