СпутникиРНSpaceXРоскосмосNASAKARACHI: The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has made all the arrangements to hold elections on 30 managing committee seats on Saturday (September 26) for the year 2026-28.
Polling will start at 9:00 a.m. and continue till 5.30 p.m.
Election of office-bearers and annual general meeting will be held on September 30.
The election commission of KCCI received 67 nomination papers out of them 11 candidates withdrew their nominations, leaving 56 in the run against 30 vacant seats of the managing committee for the year 2026-28.
Elections would be held on 30 vacant seats of the Executive Committee — 15 seats each in Corporate and Associate Categories.
A total of 34 candidates filed nominations on the corporate sector seats out of which 5 candidate’s either withdrew their nominations or declared invalid, leaving 29 candidates in the run on corporate seats.
Similarly 32 candidates filed their nomination papers on Associate seats out of them six withdrew their nominations, leaving 27 candidates in the run.
BMG group candidates contesting election on corporate class are Shahid Ismail, Zafar Saeed Baghpatee, Mobeen Waqar, Aslam Pakhali, Jahangir Moghul, Faisal Jahangir, Muzzammil Rauf, Aslam Pervez, Shaikh Wasim Ahmed, Ahsan Saleem (Roomi), Syed Atiqur Rehman, Khalid Riaz, Zoaib Fakhruddin Dabbawala, Adnan Ahmed Paracha and Sadiq Abdul Razzak.
BMA group candidates contesting on Corporate seats are Muhammad Saleem Khan, Mohammad Sajid, Muhammad Qamar ul Islam, Syed Mubarak Hussain, Sri Chand Himrajani, Mubashar Hussain, Asim Khan Jadoon, Kamran Umar Abbasi, Gulzar Shah Mishwani, Fazal Ghani Awan, Asad Rehman, Aijaz Hussain Qureshi, Syed Najmi Zargham and Muhammad Tayyab.
BMG candidates contesting on Associate seats include Talat Mahmood, Mohammad Ibrahim Kasumbi, Mohammad Farooq Afzal, Haji Asif Chamdia, Chaudhry Aamir Ali Khan, Atif Jamil ur Rahman, Abdul Khalid (Insaf), Amir Mansha, Muhammad Fahim, Shabbir Ismail, Syed Umair Uddin Hussain, AlamgirKhokhar, Muhammad Usman, Saad Ali Younus and Johar Iqbal.
BMA candidate contesting on Associate seats include Mohammad Sharjil Goplani, Wasiq Hussain Khan, Chaudhary Amjad Ali, Rana Zahid Farooq, Altaf Hussain, Muhammad Ismail Lalpuria, Muhammad Qasim, Muhammad Humair Amin, Muhammad Yakoob, Naseem Askar and Naveed Iqbal Billoo.
