Malin Akerman provided a tease about the upcoming season of The Hunting Wives, which will be released on Netflix on November 26.

The psychological thriller series explores the multifaceted lives of a group of women, who are a part of an elite and wealthy clique in Texas, where murder and mystery unfold in unexpected ways.

The show primarily follows lead Sophie, who is played by Brittany Snow. Sophie just moved to the state from Boston and is actively trying her best to get into the high society club called The Hunting Wives.

Malin portrays Margo, who leads the pack in the series, is the wife of a successful Republican politician, and enjoys shooting out on a gun range.

During the first season, the duo form a strong bond, and a horrendous murder of a teen girl named Abby takes place in their town. As the intense series unravels, viewers discover who the murderer is, and the reasons behind the crime of passion.

The actress spoke exclusively with HELLO! about what viewers can expect this time around during the A Sense of Home Gala in New York City on September 23.

The star revealed: "Well, I can't give away too much without giving away plot lines, but I will tell you that there's some really new exciting characters that come in."

Some of the new actors that will be featured include John Stamos, Kim Matula, Alex Fitzalan, Dale Dickey, and Cam Gigandet.

New characters mean new drama, and Malin is here for it, and she herself was in disbelief about what will take place this time around.

She continued: "Of course, there are twists that you will not believe. There was one in particular where I actually couldn't believe when I read it that this was happening."

Malin commended the showrunner and creator of the series Rebecca Cutter for her creativity, adding: "But listen, again, Rebecca Cutter is all about entertainment. It's never boring, and that I can promise you – season two as well – another page turner, another binge-worthy season, so get ready."

The series is overall based on The Hunting Wives novel by May Cobb, which came out in 2021, and was loosely inspired by the author being raised in East Texas.

Although the series is inspired by the novel, it doesn't follow the exact same plot and there are new stories that unexpectedly unfold and surprise viewers.

The new season will feature a time jump from the previous season that's less than a year later.
