The 29th edition of the European Microwave Week (EuMW 2026) is scheduled for he 29th edition of the European Microwave Week (EuMW 2026) is scheduled for 4-9 October 2026. Once again, this year, we gather in London, a globally connected center for science, engineering and innovation with a long history of pioneering advances in electromagnetics, communications and radar. With its world-renowned universities, thriving technology sector and excellent international connectivity, London and Excel provide an outstanding setting for bringing together academia, industry and government organizations from across the global microwave community.

EuMW is Europe’s version of the U.S.-centric IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (IMS) and is the largest microwave event in the rapidly growing European market. The exhibition will run from 6-9 October and is expected to cover 8,000 m² with 300+ exhibitors. EuMW 2026 also features specialized forums on Defence, Space, Automotive and 6G, as well as workshops, short courses and networking events, including Women in Microwave Engineering.

This week-long event also combines three co-located conferences:

• The European Microwave Conference (EuMC), 6-8 October
• The European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference (EuMIC), 4-9 October
• The European Radar Conference (EuRAD), 4-9 October.

Delegates can register for one, two or all three conferences; registration is now open. All conference papers and workshop materials will be available for electronic download. This schedule provides ample opportunity for professionals in RF, microwave, radar and related fields to attend technical sessions, explore the trade exhibition and participate in networking and educational events.

EuMC

This will be the 56th European Microwave Conference (EuMC), and it is Europe’s premier conference dedicated to RF, microwave, mmWave and terahertz science, engineering and technology. This will be the sixth time that London has hosted this prestigious event. In fact, the very first EuMC was held in London, way back in 1969.

This conference is the core component of European Microwave Week and will feature approximately 300 papers delivered in 50 technical sessions throughout the full three days of the event. EuMC 2026 also offers numerous opportunities for networking and interaction with international experts across a wide range of specialties, attracting delegates from both academic and industrial backgrounds. Scientific papers by leading researchers are showcased not only in traditional publications but also in workshops and contributions describing industrial applications. These cover fields such as instrumentation, medicine, telecommunications, radio astronomy, space, automotive, defence and security.

EuMIC

This year will be the 21st convening of the European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference (EuMIC). This conference showcases recent achievements and emerging innovations across the high frequency electronics landscape, providing extensive opportunities for scientific exchange and professional interaction. Technical coverage includes devices, fabrication and packaging technologies through to monolithic integrated circuits, system-in-package and system-on-chip solutions. Additional topics will delve into modelling, simulation, measurement and system-level implementation. While EuMIC has established itself as the key venue for both III-V and silicon-based technologies, it also encourages contributions in nanotechnologies, wide-bandgap devices and microwave photonics.

Emerging applications, including 6G and terahertz connectivity, intelligent sensing, connected and autonomous vehicles, non-terrestrial networks, smart cities and smart manufacturing, are increasingly reliant on advanced high frequency technologies. These global megatrends continue to drive innovation across microwave and terahertz electronics, shaping future investment priorities and technology strategies throughout the integrated circuit industry.

The 2026 EuMIC will feature more than 100 peer-reviewed papers presented across a variety of oral and poster sessions during the two-day program. The opening session will include keynote presentations from Dr. Merv Haynes of CML Micro on trends in III-V semiconductor design and Dr. Alan Wong of Ensilica on RF/mmWave silicon enabling the satcom space race. A networking get-together sponsored by the GAAS Association will wrap up an exciting first day.

EuRAD

This year will mark the 23rd European Radar Conference (EuRAD 2026). This premier event brings together researchers, practitioners and industry experts from around the world to discuss the latest advancements in radar research, technologies, system design and applications. The conference is the ideal opportunity to stay up to date with the latest achievements in radar and to interact with international experts from industry and academia. The conference brings together researchers and radar developers from around the world to spur the development of new products and services. International experts will present keynote papers on topics of current importance and on the latest advances. Tailored short courses and workshops will complement the program.

EuRAD 2026 will cover a wide range of topics, including:

• Radar Phenomenology and Modelling
• Radar Technologies
• Radar Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence
• Radar Applications.

ADDITIONAL EVENTS

Forums

The 6G Forum is an all-day event taking place on Thursday, 8 October, from 09:00 to 21:00 (including lunch and dinner). It is a dynamic, interactive opportunity to bring you up to date on the latest developments in wireless communications. There will be interesting keynote presentations on applications, standardization, spectrum management and advanced microwave and antenna technologies. Forum speakers will address the ongoing discussions on which frequency bands will be most commercially successful. In addition, there will be several live demos showing recent technological developments on the road to 6G. There will be plenty of time for discussion and networking.

In 2019, the European Microwave Association (EuMA) organized the Automotive Forum to provide an open platform for industrial experts to discuss technical aspects, concepts and radar architectures, as well as market issues in the automotive microwave industry. This year’s Automotive Forum will take place on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, from 09:00 to 18:20.

The forum consists of a good mix of technical talks and poster presentations, a keynote speech, a panel discussion and plenty of time for networking. The forum is primarily for technical experts in the automotive industry across the entire supply chain. Keynote speakers will present their views on special technical solutions as well as regulatory or strategic issues.

Expected topics to be addressed in the Automotive Forum 2026 include:

• Novel waveforms/modulation schemes for radars
• Imaging and cognitive radars
• Radar networks and distributed array radars
• AI signal processing for automotive radars
• Interference topics (mutual, mitigation, …)
• Emerging topics of joint radar and communications
• Automotive radars above 100 GHz Enabling technologies, antennas and building blocks for automotive radars
• ADAS versus AV – bridging the radar gap
• New radar simulation, testing and validation methods.

Due to the growing importance of military and defence initiatives, this year the Defence Forum will be separated from the Security and Space topics from last year. It will take place on Wednesday, 7 October, from 08:45 to 18:00 (seated lunch included). Microwave technology is the backbone of modern defence, serving as a critical pillar for radar, electronic warfare and secure communication systems. As the battleground evolves — highlighted by the rise of drone technology — innovative microwave solutions are essential for effective detection and response. This inaugural Defence Forum creates a unique ecosystem that connects funding bodies, industry and academia to accelerate the translation of research into real-world defence capabilities.

The explosion of activity in satellite communications, including D2D/NTN, has prompted the organizers to create a brand-new Space Forum this year. This gathering will take place on Thursday, 8 October 2026, from 08:30 to 12:50.

At the Space Forum, attendees can expect a strong focus on the rapidly evolving role of RF and microwave technologies in next-generation space systems. As part of a broader program that brings together industry, academia and government across defence, satellite communications and advanced electronics, the forum will highlight key themes such as high frequency satellite communications (including Ku-, Ka- and emerging mmWave bands), phased-array and beamforming architectures and the growing demand for high-throughput, low latency LEO constellations. Discussions will also address the challenges of operating in harsh space environments — covering reliability, radiation tolerance, thermal management and power efficiency — while showcasing enabling technologies like GaN power amplifiers, advanced packaging and integrated RF front-end modules. In addition, as convergence between commercial and defence space applications increases, the forum will explore topics such as secure communications, spectrum congestion and the role of AI-driven RF optimization.

Workshops
The Workshops and Short Courses program has been carefully designed to provide participants with in-depth technical insight into both established and emerging areas, including microwave components and materials, advanced integrated circuit designs, radar and remote sensing and next-generation 6G communications. This year’s program features 24 workshops and eight short courses delivered by leading experts from academia and industry, covering a broad spectrum of topics, including:

• 6G, AI-driven RF design and integrated sensing
