COSMIC Epoch 1.9 was released last night as the newest version of the System76-sponsored, Rust-based desktop environment. COSMIC Epoch 1.9 release notes only became available today and it's a big one with new apps and improvements to existing offerings.

COSMIC Epoch 1.9 introduces COSMIC Viewer as the desktop's own native image viewer that supports built-in editing and a variety of different image formats.

COSMIC OSK is the new on-screen keyboard for the COSMIC desktop.

COSMIC Epoch 1.9 also brings a overhaul to the COSMIC Store, compositor updates, COSMIC Files fixes, optional support in COSMIC Greeter for systemd-homed, and various other fixes and refinements.
