On 28th May 2026 a temporary change to our UKAS accreditation status was made.

Following management changes that took place in 2025, APHC has been placed under a temporary suspension of its UKAS accreditation.

The reasons behind our temporary suspension are administrative in nature and does not affect our technical competence or our ability to operate as a certification body. The competence of registered installers and the validity of certifications already issued are not at risk.

We are continuing to support our members as normal. If you are currently certificated, you can continue to notify work as usual as this does not affect you.

We have however, been unable to onboard new contractors or undertake surveillance visits whilst under suspension.

Installers that are due site visits whilst we are under the suspension will have these deferred for a short period of time. Installers that have imminent certification deadlines are being offered a transfer to an alternative certification body in order to avoid any delay to their certification status.

Everyone affected either has been, or will be, contacted by a member of our certification team to discuss your individual circumstances.

We are working closely with UKAS to provide the additional information needed and have been in continuous engagement with, the Building Safety Regulator (BSR), the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), MCS Certified and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ).

At the time of this being published, we are awaiting confirmation of the timescales in which this will be resolved. Temporary suspension is ideally due to last a total of three months from the date of suspension.

Once the suspension is lifted, we will be working hard to prioritise assessments for those installers impacted most by the suspension. The APHC team are here to answer any questions members may have, so please feel free to contact us if you’d like to discuss anything further.
