Somebody else on earth slogged his way through Jerry Cornelius?
Not counting books that I found uninteresting, there were only two books in my life I could never manage to bull my way through without crying uncle. I finally made it through Jerry Cornelius the third time, once I twigged to the overall premise and stopped trying to force it to make any sense.
The other one was Henry James’ The Ambassadors. I suspect it’s not worth it.

The 1973 movie The Final Programme, directed by Robert Fuest, with Jon Finch as Jerry and Jenny Runacre as Miss Brunner, is a lot better. It tells the story in about an hour and a quarter without the excess verbiage.
The ending sucks, though.

Contrarian View
Islam is completely incompatible with any civilized culture. Its explicitly stated mission is the destruction of any society it infects. The radical ones must be removed from our country immediately. “Moderates” can be given a chance to remain contingent on renouncing the cult and continued good behavior.
The inevitable alternative is violent conflict. So it has been everywhere they gain a foothold.

The Koran says there are NO moderate muslims. In order to BE a muslim you must kill, rape, and conquer for allah. The ‘moderate’ muslims are using taquiyya (lying) to achieve position before they strike in numbers.
ALL muslims must be expelled.

I spent well over a decade living in a Muslim nation.Not all Muslims breathe fire every waking moment of every day.
Some of them will be friendly to you, some of them will have a drink with you.
But when push comes to shove, you’re an infidel.The only exception to this are the Muslim equivalent of Catholic C&E’ers, Muslims who only observe on Holidays out of family or social pressure, but even then it’s a crapshoot….are they truly an apostate of Islam who is just keeping up a charade for personal safety…are they actually a munāfiq, or are they practicing taquiyya to lull you into complacency and trust?
You’ll never know, until they betray you.Every other major faith in the world considers lying to be a sin even if to an outsider, although it can be forgiven under some circumstances.
Islam is the only faith that I am aware of where lying to an Infidel is actually considered a good act worthy of praise.As for “moderate” Muslims…they aren’t moderate, they’re just not in the starting lineup. They’re bench-warmers waiting to get called in at the end to get some field time.
Communism is a religion that hides behind politics.
Islam is a totalitarian political system that hides behind a religion. -

It’s not only permissible to lie to non-islamists. it’s a duty.
The greatly ‘educated’ but woefully inexperienced kids backing hamas and lining up to vote for their dsa agents can’t get their heads around the islamic ‘constitution’ that would require them to either convert to islam, become slaves to islam and pay a heavy tax for the privilige, or die.
Sadly, they’re completely willing to don the burqa and bow down…although not beside men of course. When they learn that under islam women are seen as property and have no rights, can be married off to abdul for the weekend then divorced on Monday so someone else can have a turn, and worst of all told to sit down and shut up because women cannot speak, go to school or have jobs outside the house because they can’t be in the company of any males then they’ll try to protest but be beaten mercilessly until the ysit down and shut up…something they should be doing now until they have some clue about what they’re ‘protesting’ for…and when they try that, they’ll find out that protesting under islam doesn’t get you whipped, it gets you shot, but by then it will be far too late for the rest of us.

Islam is the fastest growing religion in the USA. Prisons are rife with it. And, Louis Farrakhan, although 93 still has his brand of Islam (Nation of Islam) growing. We’ve let then infiltrate government, commerce and our military. The threat to American freedoms grows daily. How is a philosophy that promotes lying, murder and rape (among other abhorrent acts) even considered to be a “religion” protected under law by any civil society?

The Society for Krishna Consciousness started out as a schismatic Hindu sect. Then they decided they were really a schismatic Sikhism sect. Then, no, they were a schismatic Buddhist sect, then a schismatic Muslim sect.
About 1970 they concluded that they really just didn’t much like anybody, period.
And moved to the United States, specifically the Pacific Northwest. They’ve been there ever since.
I suspect that neither Robert (Frost or Heinlein) would regard them as “comfortable” neighbors.

Heinlein had this to say about them in “Friday”…I think it might give you a chuckle.

Why?
Because, he says, all that money reflects a lack of “equity in health research allocation” due to the sufferers of breast cancer enjoying an unfair amount of “social power and privilege.”
“For the same reason,” he whines, he had to watch a football game where the players wore “pink cleats and arm bands.”
And this putz is supposed to have a Doctorate in Public Health ?
He’s islamic and to him women aren’t permitted to have health care, if one dies you just go out and kidnap a new one. -

I continue to be cautiously optimistic
about the mid-term elections, especially
after watching Trump`s press conference
today. He is just plain a genius at dealing
with people; even a plausible reason why
his administration`s name should be on
the Kennedy ctr. If JFK was alive today he
would be considered a right-wing Repub.I was watching the press conf. on Fox, but
looked to see if MS now and CNN were covering,
Of course not, but then (the reporters were
there) a CNN operative asked why he had banned CNN, MS now, and Politico, from the
White House he gave it to them like usual,
because they have Fake news.I thought I would try MS now and CNN again
and like magic CNN was covering the press
conference, not MS now, someone must have
thought it Prudent? to cover the Pres. of the U S.Nobody has ever been able to handle the
press and their ridiculous (a lot of the time)
questions like he does, and HOPEFULLY, the
sane people in our country will realize and
vote to keep us on track.
