“Is your home supporting who you are wanting to become? Not just who you are now but who you want to be?” she says.
“Your home should work with you, with systems that work for you and your life. It’s not just about making things pretty. It’s about making things work.”
Semeschuk is a main stage presenter at the 2026 Edmonton Fall Home Show, running Oct. 16 to 18 at the Edmonton Expo Centre.

Her talk, titled Your Home Shouldn’t Work Against You, will be Semeschuk’s fifth home show appearance, but her first on the main stage.
She’ll touch on how to make your home right for you, whether you’re building a new house or renovating your current space.
One of her specialties is blending indoor and outdoor living — a tricky thing to do in Edmonton, with its long winters. Her secrets include adding plants and letting in lots of natural light.
“With Edmonton being such a cold place, we don’t get as much sunlight as we need,” she says. “I like bringing in plants and grow lights as much as possible.”
Red light therapy is another trend she’s seeing recently. “We’re doing all the things we can to stay happy in winter here,” she says.
These days, much of her work comes from clients looking to update their homes so they can age in place. Maybe they’re adding a shaft-less elevator. Or perhaps they need a bathroom designed for someone with injuries or a wheelchair.
“Life changes,” she says. “We talk about how important it is that your home can change with you.”
Semeschuk worked in sales before following her true passion, interior design. She studied at the Visual College of Art and Design and then returned to Edmonton to create Kendra Noelle Design. She also studied national construction building codes, so she understands what it takes to make a space both functional and legal.
She has worked with a variety of clients across the city on both commercial and residential properties.
“I love a new build, but I love an existing renovation project, too. I like the puzzle of it,” she says.
“I can walk into a space and I can see how it will look. I can see the new counters. I know where the art will go.”
Of course, the client can’t always see what she can see in her head. That’s where Semeschuk uses three-dimensional modelling to help people figure out what they want before the actual work starts.
It’s handy, she says. One time a client was sure she wanted a specific type of tile. But after Semeschuk showed her a mock-up of the tiles in her home, she quickly realized it wasn’t at all what she had envisioned.
“I love the challenge of finding out what people need,” she says. “It’s exciting.”
