The sexual assault case against Trailer Park Boys star Mike Smith has been dismissed.
The three-day trial was scheduled to start in a Dartmouth, N.S., courtroom on Thursday morning.
Judge Jill Hartlen dismissed the case after Crown attorneys said they would not be presenting any evidence.
Charge stemmed from alleged 2017 incidentSmith, best known for playing Bubbles on the Canadian series, pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual assault stemming from an alleged incident nearly nine years ago.
The New Glasgow, N.S., native was charged by Halifax Regional Police in October 2025 after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman in the Dartmouth area on Dec. 30, 2017.
He was released on an undertaking requiring him to have no contact with the alleged victim and to stay away from her home, school and workplace.
Previous legal troublesSmith was also arrested and charged in 2016 with misdemeanor domestic battery in Los Angeles over an alleged incident involving a woman at a Hollywood hotel.
He denied those allegations, describing what happened as a “loud and heated dispute” with a friend.
The public attorney’s office said a month later that it had dropped the charges.
