Two people have been arrested in connection in the Sept. 21 shooting of an off-duty corrections officer in the west Las Vegas Valley.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police Department said Guadalupe Ramirez, 48, and Agustin Ramirez, 51, were arrested Monday.

Guadalupe Ramirez was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on the following charges: conspiracy to commit murder, three counts of attempt murder with a deadly weapon and five counts of discharging a gun at or into an occupied structure.

Agustin Ramirez was arrested by California law enforcement officials and booked into the Los Angeles County Jail, pending extradition back to Las Vegas, where he will be booked for: conspiracy to commit murder, three counts of attempt murder with a deadly weapon and five counts of discharging a gun at or into an occupied structure, and carrying a concealed weapon without permit.

Still photographs and video released last week show that a male wearing a half-style helmet, dark green jacket, dark pants and a face covering rode a black electric bicycle through a parking lot on the 7600 block of West Cheyenne Avenue, near North Buffalo Drive, before opening fire and striking the off-duty officer.

The Metro officer, who has yet to be identified, was hospitalized and underwent surgery, police said. The officer’s condition had been stabilized, according to a news release.

A previous version of this story misstated the gender of one of the suspects.
