Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, alongside the Flip 8, has broken 1.44 million sales during the pre-order phase, smashing a record previously set by the Galaxy Note 10.

Without the data, it’s clear that Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 is a popular choice. So much so that the website is struggling to keep up, and Samsung is having to delay shipments as more orders keep coming in.

The latest report shows that the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and Flip 8 have hit a combined 1.44 million units sold during the ongoing pre-order period (via Yonhap News Agency). The number is expected to continue growing as Samsung ends the pre-order phase on August 7. At that point, every deal that makes the Galaxy Z Fold 8 such a popular device will disappear. At least, until Samsung runs another sales event in a few months.

The previous record was held by the Galaxy Note 10 in 2019. Samsung sold 1.38 million devices during the pre-order period. The only other device lineup that came close was the Galaxy S26 series at 1.35 million units.

It goes without saying that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 completely blew the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 launch out of the water. That’s thanks to the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s new, more widely appealing form factor. Previous reports suggest the phone sold 3x better than the Fold 7, but the new data puts a nail in the coffin. The Fold 7 and Flip 7 barely crossed 1 million pre-orders.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra are still available, though you can expect some delays. Even with a pushed shipping date, Samsung’s deals are some of the best around.
