The idea in a paragraph
One immutable, ownerless contract holds a table of messages. Each message is two storage slots: a
keccak256 hash of the content, the author, a parent link (zero for a top-level post) and a
timestamp. The content bytes live off-chain on any host; clients fetch them by hash and verify them.
A reply is a message with a parent. Before accepting a reply, the contract asks a read-only
contract chosen by the parent’s author, a “gate”, whether this account may reply. Gates can express
any rule: a blocklist, followers only, verified humans only. An author sets one account-wide
default gate and can override it per message. There is no token, no fee, no admin key and no
protocol-wide moderator.
