You say you already put together your child’s cute-cute Halloween outfit, or most of the pieces have been lined up and tried on by your tot, over and over?
Then there is a strong chance that your little one is ready to wear their adorable ensemble out in the world, despite the frightful fact that Halloween night is still over four weeks away.
You and your little one won’t have to wait long, however: There are two Torrance to-dos spookily sprouting over the first weekend of October, and both will feature trunk-or-treating or trick-or-treating as well as other sweet seasonal diversions and activities.
On Oct. 3, local businesses around Old Torrance are hosting Scaredown in Downtown, an afternoon-into-evening celebration with a bevy of upbeat activities including games, craft-making, photo spots, trunk-or-treating, Beto the Halloween clown, live music, and the Halloween Boo-tique.
And, if you’re feeling daring, there’s a Haunted Maze on El Prado Avenue.
The area is staying eerie all weekend, though not too scary, phew: The Western Museum of Flight will welcome youngsters for midday trick-or-treating on Oct. 4.
Presented by Local Anchor and South Bay Credit Union, the Zamperini Field event will also draw aviation buffs of every age.
“Little aviators (and parents!) can explore real planes and historic aerospace memorabilia and can even climb into the cockpit of fighter jets and more,” promised the team behind the flight-tastic fun.
While organizers suggest costumes inspired by “Top Gun,” you don’t need to look to the skies for your Halloween get-up; just wear your most festive fall fashion and enjoy wandering by the eye-catching wings.
And the October-style high jinks are really revving up around the region: The beloved Mr. Jack O’Lanterns Pumpkin Patches are also making their debuts around Southern California as the month begins, with a location in Torrance on Prairie Avenue.
