Jim Carrey‘s new marriage to Min Ah reportedly bears little resemblance to the high-profile relationships that once defined his love life.

The 32-year age gap between the 64-year-old actor and his 32-year-old bride might throw some people off, but a Daily Mail insider is claiming that Ah has brought true happiness to his life. The source shared that her “quiet, reserved” nature appealed to Carrey, who now prefers a life out of the spotlight.

“In the past, he was with very ambitious women like Lauren [Holly] and Jenny [McCarthy]. I think it was exhausting,” the insider said to the media outlet. “Jenny really wanted to marry Jim, but he said no. With Renée [Zellweger], it just fizzled. She works a ton, so there was not a lot of time for romance.”

They added, “I think Jim felt pushed around by some of the famous women he dated. They have a tough side. So then he just started dating different pretty girls, and having fun, until he got tired of that too.”

Carrey was apparently looking for a “chill” relationship, and that is exactly what Ah brought to the relationship. The insiders described her as a somewhat retired actress, and “not a hyper career chick.”

The comedian is currently on his third marriage — he was previously married to Melissa Wormer from 1987 to 1995; they share a daughter, Jane, 39. He was also briefly married to his Dumb and Dumber co-star Lauren Holly from 1996 to 1997.

Carrey was also engaged to Zellweger from 1999 to 2000 after they starred in Me, Myself & Irene. His romance with McCarthy lasted from 2005 to 2010. He’s also dated singer Linda Ronstadt and January Jones in the past. But with Ah, it seems like he’s met his true soulmate.

At the César Awards in February, Carrey was celebrated with a lifetime honor for his work in film, and it’s there that he gave Ah her flowers.

“Thank you to my wonderful family, my daughter Jane, and my grandson Jackson. I love you now and forever. Thank you to my sublime companion, Min Ah,” he said in French, per People. “I love you, Min Ah.”

It’s unclear when the dynamic duo began dating, but they were first linked together in 2022. TMZ revealed the news on September 30 that Carrey and Ah married in Los Angeles in a “private ceremony” recently.

After years of high-profile relationships that unfolded in the public eye, Carrey appears to have found a fresh perspective with Ah. A love that seems to fit the quieter life he wants today.
