Sony has named F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 as the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for October 2026, free to claim for Essential members from Tuesday 6 October until Monday 2 November.

The lineup was announced on 30 September in the announcement on PlayStation.Blog, which confirms the three games will be available to all PlayStation Plus members across the claim window.

Sony’s senior director of content acquisition and operations, Adam Michel, summed up the month: “Race for podium glory in F1 25, take on monsters and other players in Hunt: Showdown 1896, then battle voxel versions of EDF enemies in Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2.”

F1 25 is the headliner and lands on the subscription a little over a year after its May 2025 release. Codemasters’ game is the official video game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship and is PS5 only, with the Braking Point story campaign, Career and My Team 2.0 modes, and the squad-based F1 World multiplayer.

Hunt: Showdown 1896, Crytek’s PvEvP extraction shooter, is also PS5 only. The game has four maps and squads of two or three, and the PS5 version includes a battle royale offering. A PS Plus Exclusive Starter Pack for the game also arrives on 6 October.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2, developed by YUKE’S and published by D3PUBLISHER, is the only one of the three on PS4 as well as PS5. The voxel-styled spin-off supports four-player online co-op and two-player split screen, with squads drawn from more than 100 characters and more than 600 weapons and accessories.

September’s Monthly Games, Chained Echoes, Sniper Elite: Resistance, Wobbly Life and MLB The Show 26, remain claimable until Monday 5 October, after which they drop off.

Sony notes the Monthly Games lineup may differ by region and says members should check their local PlayStation Store on release day to confirm the Australian lineup.
