This research paper serves as scholarly program notes to the graduate recital held on December 6, 2025, at the Old Baptist Foundation Recital Hall. All song selections relate to travel and the discovery of love or loss along the journey. They were performed in the order reflected in this paper. Each chapter contains information about the relationship between text and music, the relationship between voice and piano, and significant features of the songs. The recital program included the following songs:
