The Passing Notes after performing with Lou Gramm and Foreigner at the Wellmont Theater.

The Passing Notes, Montclair High School’s nonprofit, student-run a cappella group, is back for the 2026-27 season!

For more than 15 years, the Passing Notes have brought free, live a cappella performances to events throughout Montclair. In the past, the group has sung at the Nishuane Pancake Breakfast, the Upper Montclair Christmas Tree Lighting and the Montclair Holiday Bazaar. The Passing Notes have even performed on the Wellmont stage alongside Lou Gramm and Foreigner.

The group hopes to perform frequently this year. If you’re planning a block party, local business event, holiday celebration, community gathering or any other event that could benefit from high school a cappella singers, consider booking the Passing Notes.

The group can be contacted at passingnotesmontclair@gmail.com or on Instagram at @thepassingnotes.
