Alongside the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, Xiaomi India has launched the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G as part of the new REDMI Note 17 Pro Series. The smartphone features a 1.5K OLED display, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 SoC, 50 MP OIS camera, and a massive 9,000 mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge. The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G is also built around the REDMI Titan Structure, with reinforced construction, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, and IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings.

One of the biggest highlights of the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G is its 9,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery. The company claims that the large battery can provide more than 3.5 days of usage on a single charge.

The battery supports 67W TurboCharge, with a full 100% charge taking around 80 minutes under the stated conditions. A charger is included in the box.

The phone also supports 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing the smartphone to be used as a power source for other compatible devices. REDMI claims the battery can retain more than 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charging cycles.

The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G features a 6.83-inch flat AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2,772 x 1,280 pixels) and up to 120 Hz refresh rate. The display features 12-bit color depth, DCI-P3 wide color gamut, and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness, along with 3,840 Hz PWM dimming and up to 3,200 Hz instantaneous touch sampling in selected gaming scenarios.

The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and supports wet-touch operation through REDMI’s Wet Touch 2.0, allowing the touchscreen to remain responsive even when the user’s fingers are wet, oily or soapy. The phone also carries TÜV eye protection.

Durability is another major focus of the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G. The smartphone features REDMI’s reinforced construction and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It has Double Five-Star Quality Certification from SGS and TÜV, with drop resistance of up to 3 metres on smooth granite surfaces. The phone also carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

According to REDMI, the phone can withstand submersion in water up to 2 metres for up to 72 hours. It also features Wet Touch 2.0 for touchscreen operation with wet, oily, or soapy fingers.

Powering the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G is the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 SoC, with an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.4 GHz and an Adreno GPU. The CPU includes 4x Cortex-A78 cores at up to 2.4 GHz and 4x Cortex-A55 cores at up to 1.8 GHz.

The smartphone comes with 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256 GB storage. The 128 GB variant uses UFS 2.2 storage, while the 256 GB version comes with faster UFS 3.1 storage. The phone also supports a SIM + microSD card configuration.

The device runs Android 16 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3. REDMI promises four Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the smartphone.

For photography, the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G features a dual rear camera setup comprising a 50 MP primary camera with OIS and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, there is a 16 MP selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture and support for 1080p video recording at 30 fps.

The primary camera supports up to 1080p video recording at 30 fps and is accompanied by features such as Live Moments, HDR, Portrait Mode, Underwater Mode, Ultra HD mode, Panorama, Documents, Pro Mode with presets, and Dual Video. The phone also supports OIS on the main camera.

REDMI has also included AI imaging features such as AI Erase Pro, AI Glare Removal and AI Beautify. Google Gemini and Circle to Search are also supported, along with other AI-powered functions.

The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G also introduces Xiaomi Offline Communication, allowing users to communicate over a distance of up to 1 kilometre without relying on a mobile network.

Other features include HyperIsland, Google Gemini, Circle to Search, an optical in-display fingerprint sensor and an IR blaster. The phone also comes with stereo dual speakers, a claimed 300% volume boost, Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, and USB Type-C connectivity.
