As supply chains face growing pressure to deliver credible sustainability outcomes, SAI Platform’s schemes and frameworks are helping companies turn ambition into action.

A new case study with Crisp Malt demonstrates how SAI Platform’s, Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) and Regenerating Together (RT) framework, can work in tandem to strengthen supply chain resilience while keeping farmers at the centre.

In Poland, Crisp Malt uses the FSA to establish a verified understanding of on-farm sustainability performance across 785 farms. The assessment provides an independent, recognised benchmark that helps identify priorities, measure progress and demonstrate sustainability performance with confidence.

In the UK, Crisp Malt’s Field Forward programme is built on the Regenerating Together framework. Through a structured process of context analysis, outcome setting, practice adoption and continuous improvement, farmers are helping shape regenerative agriculture pathways suited to their own local conditions.

“By using both the FSA and RT framework verification approaches across different parts of our supply chains, we are better equipped to meet the expectations of different customers, while maintaining a clear and credible pathway.“

Ellie Wood, Sustainability Manager, Crisp Malt

The case study highlights why SAI Platform develops these resources. The industry needs practical tools that are credible, adaptable and farmer-centred. It also shows the collective thinking behind them, bringing together farmers, agronomists, merchants and supply chain partners to address shared challenges around soil health, water, biodiversity and climate resilience.

The case study highlights the role SAI Platform’s solutions play in addressing industry-wide challenges. The FSA helps supply chains understand where they are today. The RT framework helps define where they want to go tomorrow. Together, they provide a common framework for continuous improvement, helping build resilient agricultural systems that benefit farmers, businesses and the wider food and drink sector.
