The Blood of Dawnwalker is a new RPG made by Rebel Wolves, a game development studio founded by former CD Projekt Red developers who worked on games in the Witcher franchise. The game puts you in the boots of Coen, a sort of vampire (called a vrakhir in the game) who's human by day and a vampire by night (it's complicated), as he sets out to save his family and exact revenge on those who wronged him. The game features a unique day-and-night cycle that limits the number of quests and activities the player can partake in, and takes place in Vale Sangora, a remote valley located somewhere in the Carpathian Mountains during the Black Death pandemic.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is built in Unreal Engine 5 and features UE5's staple technologies, such as Lumen (software Lumen only, as far as we know) and Nanite. You can choose between DLSS, FSR, and XeSS upscaling (no TSR here), while frame generation options are limited to FSR and DLSS. There also aren't any low-latency options to be found.
Considering that the game has fairly lofty minimum system requirements, let's dive into our handheld performance benchmark to see how it performs and whether it's playable on some of the most popular handheld PCs around. In addition to performance benchmarks, we'll also provide optimized settings for every device featured in our benchmark suite.
