We’ll work on index, query, and server tuning: why that query is slow, which indexes might help, and what the server is waiting on. You can pause and rewind the recordings as often as you need. I won’t take it personally. I won’t even know.

Pick one performance problem your team cares about. Measure it, test a possible improvement, and come back with a short recommendation and the results.

“I watched some videos” is a tough thing for your boss to evaluate. “Here’s what I tested, here’s what changed, and here’s what I recommend” gives you something useful to talk about.

Also: ask for the time to learn, not just the money. Buying training and then spending class answering “quick questions” in chat is a very expensive way to collect browser tabs.

Fundamentals Week starts November 2-6, 2026, and winter registration closes October 31.
