The bombshell news that Tyson Fury must face Deontay Wilder again has not only derailed his fight with Anthony Joshua but threatened to blow it out of the water completely.

It is now looking ever likely that no amount of money that Fury would be willing to part with would serve as sufficient payment for a bloodthirsty Wilder to sacrifice his shot at revenge.

The American power puncher has retired US judge Daniel Weinstein to thank for the opportunity to level the scores with Fury after he ruled Wilder had a legal right to a third fight.

Bob Arum has already reserved the new Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for July 24 for Fury's trilogy with Wilder while the WBC has welcomed the fight for their world heavyweight title between the Brit and the man who had held it for six years before being brutally ousted last February in Sin City.

Anthony Joshua's fight with Tyson Fury has been plunged into doubt after the US judge ruling

Frank Warren said they'll try to pay off Wilder but Bob Arum (R) wants Fury to fight him first

Hopes of rescuing Fury's £100million blockbuster with Joshua on August 14 are now fading with every passing hour.

Arum has already jumped ship, Fury seems like he's accepted his hands are tied, leaving only Frank Warren clinging to the mast.

As things stand, it looks like Warren will go down with the ship before it is due to dock in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

With mixed messages coming from Fury's team about their next move, what exactly is going on? And what does the roadmap to Fury vs Joshua now look like? Here, Sportsmail explains all.

What will Fury do next?

That is yet to be ascertained though all fingers are pointing at fighting Deontay Wilder.

Bob Arum insisted this week Fury would be better off 'getting rid' of Wilder first before facing Joshua in an all-British affair for the undisputed heavyweight crown in either November or December time.

Fury has indicated that could well be the case, saying that 'it looks like I'll have to crack Wilder's skull again' before telling Joshua 'I'll smoke Wilder first and then you'll get yours as well'.

Warren however has told Sportsmail that they are in talks with Wilder over a settlement fee and is confident a deal to compensate the Bronze Bomber can be reached.

Wilder's team have responded by insisting their man will not be running to the bank to cash in his step-aside money and is instead solely focussed on righting the wrongs of his first professional defeat.

When could we see Fury v AJ?

Highly unlikely that it will be on August 14 as initially planned.

Winter time is now the earliest possibility of a Fury-AJ clash for all the heavyweight world titles.

Of course that is wholly dependent on the provision that Joshua and Fury both win their next fights.

Fury must replicate what he done over a year ago by defeating Wilder while Joshua will have to crack the challenging puzzle that Oleksandr Uysk represents.

Saudi Arabia were due to host Fury vs AJ on August 14 but the earliest the fight will happen now is in the winter time this year

Why Usyk and Wilder can stop Fury and Joshua from EVER fighting

It's a fickle ol' business this boxing lark.

Fury and Joshua is the fight everyone wants to see at this minute, but if either of them were to lose, it will be on to the next big thing.

Just look at how Deontay Wilder has been discarded. He was once the man everybody wanted to see against AJ. Now many who were enthusiastic patrons of that fight don't think he's even worthy of a rematch against Fury.

Should the worst happen and Joshua or Fury suffer defeat against Wilder or Oleksandr Usyk, it could well deprive Britain and the world of one of the most significant heavyweight fights in the history of the sport forever.

Wilder (left) and Usyk (right) are both capable of winning and derailing Fury vs Joshua

Fury and Joshua's careers are aligned at the moment but one defeat can knock them off course and change everything in an instance.

This is a fight fans are demanding because it is the perceived wisdom that these are the best two heavyweights on the planet.

If Wilder or Usyk were to beat them, it would prove that theory wrong and simultaneously kill off any appetite for that fight.

It would be a long road back for Fury and Joshua as well if they were to surrender their world titles.

The timing was perfect for this year, but fate has deemed it that they must navigate one more dangerous test before they can finally meet.

Why did Joshua ignite Twitter spat with Fury?

After months and months of negotiations, back-and-forths, of taking two steps forward and one step back, the biggest fight of Anthony Joshua's life finally appeared on the horizon and then disappeared again because Tyson Fury and his team underestimated Deontay Wilder's legal case to a second rematch.

So Joshua went after Fury on Wednesday night - and can you blame him?

He told him how foolish his team were to announce their fight before the arbitration verdict, that Fury was a fraud and needed to get a podcast because he does 'more talking than fighting'.

Fury has spent the last few months calling Joshua a 'big dosser,' vowing to 'smash' his face in and knock him out in a couple of rounds.

It's advised to take most things Fury says with a pinch of salt but all the threats and promises he's made just seems utterly pointless now there's little to no chance of him coming good on any of them anytime soon.

Joshua and Fury clashed on social media on Wednesday night with their fight in jeopardy

Fury told Joshua he was 'spouting absolute s***' and invited him to a bare knuckle brawl

Joshua informed Fury he would 'do nothing' and called him a 'wasteman' as the feud continued
