Microsoft announces a new swathe of layoffs as part of ‘company transformation’

Microsoft has announced that almost 5,000 employees are being cut as the company lays off around 2.1 percent of its global workforce. The vast majority of the changes affect Microsoft’s Commercial and XBOX divisions, but other areas are impacted to a lesser extent.
