Heavy rain, intense wind gusts and lightning moved through central North Carolina on Sunday, knocking out power for hundreds.

A strong line of storms began moving through the area around 7 p.m., brining flash flood and severe thunderstorm warnings with it, as well as wind gusts up to 60 mph in some places.

According to poweroutages.us, more than 1,700 people are without power in Wake County as of 10 p.m., In Robeson County, more than 1,500 people lost power.

The storms were strong enough to knock down trees into several homes on Monday. In Franklin County, three adults and a child were displaced after a tree fell on a hom on Carlyle Road. A tree also fell onto a home in Salemburg in Sampson County.

In Zebulon, North Arendell Avenue was closed after storm knocked powerlines and a tree into the road.

As of 10:30 p.m., we still have some rain and storms moving through the area.
