A This Morning star was left joking that bosses would have to 'edit out' a VERY rude blunder he made accidentally after he left the crew on set in stitches. 

Tom Swarbrick appeared with Nicola Thorp on the ITV daytime show, sitting down with hosts Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond to discuss the latest headlines.

The radio show host, who features on LBC, left the crew working on the popular series laughing when he made an unfortunate slip of the tongue as talk turned to noise complaints in local neighbourhoods. 

The hosts discussed how a woman whose cockerel is so noisy it was handed an ASBO that could risk her pet being seized by police - despite hundreds of people rallying in support of him.

But as the discussion developed into different neighbourhood noises, Sonia, 44, and Tom, 38, soon began discussing church bells in villages being hit with the same complaints from newly-moved in residents. 

Tom explained: 'It's happening in Leicestershire at the moment, the people living in a village with the nice church at the top of the hill that are complaining about the ringing of a church bell on a Sunday morning!' 

'Oh, I love the church bells,' Alison could be heard chiming in, as Dermot added: 'It's been there a thousand years!' 

But as Sonia admitted she would be among the villagers complaining, Tom hit back: 'Sorry, but it's been ringing since 1900-and-watever on the hour on a Sunday morning, it is the sound of Britain, British countryside, British tradition!'  

Making an unfortunate slip-of-the-tongue, Tom continued to hit back: 'This sort of like... bell end, the bell-ending brigade who are there to try to...'

The crew behind-the-scenes of the camera could be heard struggling to stifle their laughter, as Dermot and Alison pulled a face towards Tom. 

'We'll square that out, we will edit that!' Tom added, looking down the camera as he tried to move on from his mistake, with Dermot taking a deep breath to avoid a giggle.

'They want to end the noise that's been the centre of communities for hundreds and hundreds of years... shut up and get on with it!' Tom concluded. 

'Let's get back to the cockerel...' Dermot added, moving the segment on. 

It's not the only blunder that took place during the segment, as show fans pointed out that during the news discussion - one headline was grammatically wrong on screen. 

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, a viewer pointed out that the following segment about age was introduced: 'Signs your getting old.'

Noticing the grammatical mistake, they penned: 'This should be a sackable offence.' 

It comes after Tom revealed his wife was 'spat in the face' by a middle-aged man in a horrifying ordeal, taking to social media to share the details.

The regular This Morning contributor wrote on his Instagram story: 'To the middle-aged white man who spat in my wife's face, in front of our daughter, in Turnbridge Wells this afternoon...'

Tom added 'We are going to find out who you are.'

The broadcaster, who also presents radio station LBC's Drivetime show, thanked a member of the public for helping his family.

Tom appears on This Morning's current affairs segment called 'This Morning's View' where he and another guest digest the day's biggest stories.

He's appeared alongside broadcasters such as Kay Burley, Vanessa Feltz, Ashley James and Sonia Sodha. 

The dad-of-two recently shared an insight into his parenting as he revealed his son won't be allowed have a smartphone until he his a teenager.

He told HELLO! magazine: 'I have a ten-year-old and an eight-year-old, so we are on the cusp with my ten-year-old of this decision about phones.

'Some of his mates have got phones already. I have told him that it's not happening until he is at least 14. He has not taken kindly to that.'

He continued by sharing what his children think of his broadcasting career.

Tom said: 'Well, they can recite the [LBC] phone number, which is probably indicative of how often I say it, so maybe I should stop repeating it so often.

'To be honest with you, they don't find it that strange, which I find strange. 

'We'll be listening in the car and the trailer for the show will pop up and I'll go, "Oh, it's me."

'They're like, "Yeah, so what?" They're not bothered. You think, dad worked bloody hard to get here! They're like, "Nah, not interested, shut up".'

During the rare interview, Tom also revealed he stunned his family when he revealed he got a tattoo - though stopped short of saying where exactly it is.

He said: 'It's the final paragraph of a poem called Walking Away by Cecil Day Lewis, which is about a dad watching their child go off to their first day at school.'
