On the whole, Russia is not a poor country, considering purchasing power parity of approximately 25,000 per capita, chief advisor to the Analytical Center head Leonid Grigoryev said at the Gaidar Forum. The high GDP per capita derives from such factors as education, healthcare, and housing. A third of homes currently available in the country in terms of housing space were built in the 21st century, when the size of available housing per capita grew from 16.8 square meters in 1992 to 25.2 square meters in 2017. Russia is trying to develop, catch up, maintain its position amongst the three great powers, reduce poverty, and boost science.
