This is a sales position for an attorney (ideally a patent attorney) who wants a change of pace and doesn't want to handle drafting or prosecution work but still wants to work in the patent/legal space with predictable hours and without deadline pressures.
Your primary responsibility is to run inbound intro/sales calls with inventors, recommend the right patent service, and close. This is a sales-first attorney role — you're not drafting patents, you're converting leads.
Your secondary responsibility (20% of your time) will be related to prospecting leads and cultivating a relationship with corporate clients.
Requirements:
Attorney or patent agent; USPTO patent bar strongly preferred
Comfortable closing on a short call with emotionally invested, non-technical clients
Familiarity with patent law and patent processes
Decisive, curious, empathetic, high-volume — you manage your own pipeline without hand-holding
Nice to have - sales experience, experience with discovering, surfacing, and addressing objections in sales calls.
