The Mangaluru City police carried out a thorough search of the Dakshina Kannada District Court complex on Monday morning after an email threatening an explosion was sent to the district court’s email address on Sunday night. The police found that the threat was a hoax.

The police said the email was sent from the account of one Anbanantan Aiyappan. Court personnel informed the police on Monday morning. Soon after, a Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad and city police personnel carried out a thorough search of the complex.

A similar hoax threat was sent by email to the Udupi District Court on June 26.
