UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- In observance of the Independence Day holiday, the following changes to Transportation Services office hours and campus transit services will be in effect on Friday, July 3:

• The Transportation Services Office will be closed.
• Fleet Operations will be closed, with no Fleet vehicle pickup available.
• The Bike Den will be closed.
• There will be no Campus Shuttle service.
• CATABUS will continue to run its Reduced Service schedule, which includes Blue Loop campus service. However, there will be no CATA campus or community service Saturday, July 4.

Faculty/staff and student permit holders may park throughout the day in their assigned area and all areas normally available to them during evening/weekend hours, except East, HUB, Nittany, and West decks, which prior to 4 p.m. will be available only to assigned permit holders for each facility.

However, all core (Brown, Green, Orange, Red, Silver, Yellow) faculty/staff permits remain valid at Lot 11, Lot 22, Yellow H (all sections), and the Nittany and West decks through Friday, Aug. 14.

Visitor parking will be available at the East, HUB, Nittany, and West decks at the rate of $2 for the first hour and $1 per hour for any additional hours.

Overnight restrictions between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. for the Commuter lots will remain in effect, and all reserved parking spaces such as ADA, service/delivery, etc. will remain reserved.

Due to Central PA 4th Fest at Medlar Field, Penn State parking permits will not be valid at the following parking areas on Saturday, July 4 and all vehicles must be removed ahead of the events:

• Porter North
• Porter South
• Jordan East
• Stadium West
• Orange F
• Orange G1
• Orange J

Note: Portions of Jordan East and Orange F will be closed starting Friday, July 3.

These areas will be closed from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 4th Fest visitor parking will begin at 1 p.m. Permit holders who wish to park in these areas will need to pay the event parking fee upon entrance to the lots.

The following campus roads will be closed from 9 - 11 a.m. Saturday, July 4 for the Firecracker 4K:

• Porter Road between Curtin Road and Hastings Road
• Hastings Road between Porter Road and Bigler Road
• Bigler Road between Hastings Road and Eisenhower Road
• Eisenhower Road between Bigler Road and Shortlidge Road
• Shortlidge Road between Eisenhower Road and Curtin Road
• Curtin Road between Shortlidge Road and Porter Road

The following downtown and campus roads will be closed beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday for the 4th Fest parade scheduled to start at 11 a.m.:

• Burrowes Road between Beaver Avenue and Pollock Road
• College Avenue between South Burrowes Street and Shortlidge Road
• Shortlidge Road between Pollock Road and College Avenue

As the parade progresses through the route, the roads will reopen to regular traffic.
