Coach Heintz has established himself as one of the premier builders of successful basketball programs. As Head Women’s Basketball Coach at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), he transformed an NCAA Division II program into a conference champion and NCAA Tournament winner. His teams earned national rankings, set school records, and achieved the first NCAA Tournament victories in program history. He was named Gulf South Conference Coach of the Year and coached numerous All-Americans, All-Region players, and scholar-athletes during his tenure.

Prior to UAH, Coach Heintz served as Head Women’s Basketball Coach and Director of Athletics at Covenant College, where he elevated the women’s basketball program into a nationally-ranked NAIA tournament team while leading significant growth across the athletic department. Under his leadership, Covenant expanded from seven varsity sports to twelve varsity programs and more than doubled athletic participation.

Coach Heintz also brings extensive high school coaching experience, including back-to-back state championships at The First Academy in Orlando, Florida. There, he helped establish a comprehensive K–12 basketball model that created a sustainable culture of excellence and provided a developmental pathway for young athletes to grow within the program. His passion for developing athletes from the ground up aligns closely with CCS Athletics’ commitment to long-term athlete development.
