Juno Temple recently experienced a full circle moment during the World Cup.

During one of her recent hotel stays, she turned on the “telly,” only to witness one of her own commercials. “Ted Lasso” fans can recall that in the first season, Temple’s character Keeley, the spunky and ambitious model-turned-PR-marketing pro, sees herself promoting Liverpool on the hotel television.

“I was just in LA for a brief moment in time, and I actually got to stay at the Sunset Tower Hotel, and the Chase commercial was playing when you turn the telly on,” she tells TODAY.com. “And I was like, ‘Oh my god, that’s me! Oh, my god! ... That’s never happened to me before. I had a total moment.”

Temple described the moment as “crazy,” adding that life played out in a way that mirrored the commercial scene in the show.

“It legitimately happened to me!” Temple says.

Temple stars in a Chase Sapphire Reserve campaign that celebrates the summer of soccer. It also includes football player Myles Garrett and Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim. In the spot, Temple helps the couple learn more about soccer, (or, how it’s known around the world, “football”), demystifying the sport for American audiences.

Thanks to her “Ted Lasso” ties, Temple has gotten to learn more about the global sport and even had the opportunity to attend Argentina’s 3-1 win against Switzerland at the July 11 World Cup match.

Below, in her own words, Temple shares her favorite World Cup memories, highlights and more.

What is your earliest memory of watching a World Cup?

Oh boy, they would all be a bit blurred now because it’s always through my brothers. Truthfully, my brothers are the diehard football fans, so I just like being around (them). So anytime they want to watch a game, I’ll sort of tap in and tap out with them. But my earliest World Cup memory, I genuinely don’t actually remember it. It’s just always a part of (our lives).

I remember one when I was in New York and it was playing a lot, and I remember just everybody being on the streets of New York. But that would have been a few years ago now.

We got to go to a game, which was insanely exciting. I got to take my little brother, who is a football fanatic, and we got to see Argentina play Switzerland. (It was) honestly iconic, especially getting to watch my brother watch (Lionel) Messi play. He was wearing a Messi shirt and I did a sneaky thing where I filmed the back of his shirt, and then I zoomed in on the real Messi, and I sent it to him.

I got to do this thing with the Chase team this year, where we got to go and have dinner on the pitch, which was so crazy because I’ve never actually been out onto a football pitch before, let alone to have dinner. And it was right after America had played. This was in San Francisco, and when you see the scale of the pitch, and you’re aware of how big that space is, and just how active all the players are in that space for that length of time, I was like, “This is insane!” That honestly blew my mind. That was a pretty incredible experience.

(Between) taking my brother to the game and (the dinner), this will be a World Cup I will never forget. Is all I’m gonna say. This World Cup will be one ingrained in my memory for eternity.

What is a soccer fact that you’ve learned since being part of ‘Ted Lasso’?

There’s a quote about a hair dryer. I’m gonna look it up because I honestly had no idea what it would have meant at all. OK, here we go. “The ‘hair dryer treatment’ is a famous football cliche describing a manager that’s fiercely shouting at a player or a team in close quarters.”

And then on top of that, at the dinner on the pitch, Rio Ferdinand was the other guest there and it was his coach, (Alex Ferguson) that had actually coined that term! And I was like, “Oh my god, oh my god!” So that’s the first thing that comes to mind.

And then the second thing is just actually going out onto a pitch and seeing the size of the space that the players are playing on.
