Lovers Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been engaged for the better part of this month, according to the Super Bowl champ’s dad, Ed Kelce, who’s spilling all the tea.

The Kelce patriarch told ABC affiliate News 5 Cleveland that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end asked the Grammy winner, both 35, to marry him at their shared home in Missouri “maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks” before they announced the news Tuesday.

“About a week ago, I asked Travis, ‘So when are you going to announce the engagement?’ He said, ‘Whenever Taylor says so,’” said Ed, who was at a public Philadelphia Eagles practice when Travis FaceTimed to let him know the happy news. The team held a public practice on Aug. 10.

“He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘let’s go out and have a glass of wine.’ … They got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful.”

Judging by the timeline, that would mean Travis asked Taylor to marry him even before they announced she’d appear on “New Heights,” the hit podcast he hosts with big brother Jason, on Aug. 13, marking the “Lover” singer’s podcast debut and a record-breaking episode.

Engagement speculation has been swirling around Swift and Kelce since their romance was confirmed in September 2023, about two months into their love story.

“I think she was getting maybe a little antsy,” Ed said told News 5, adding he’s known for months that Travis planned to pop the question.

“But he was going to put her off ’til this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event. And I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event … when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.”

Scott Swift, Taylor’s dad, was allegedly saying the same thing to his future son-in-law.

Ed said “it became obvious” this past football season that the couple is “just crazy about each other.”

Swift and Kelce shared engagement photos Tuesday in a joint Instagram post, captioned: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
