One person has been taken to hospital after a motorbike collided with a bus shelter in Bedlington. The incident took place just after 6pm on the evening of Friday, July 24, on Stead Lane in the Northumberland town.

The crash was attended by both the North East Ambulance Service and Northumbria Police, with two ambulance crews and a clinical leader deployed. Paramedics treated one patient for head injuries, and they were then taken to the hospital to receive further care.

Witnesses reported that a police cordon was in place after the collision.

A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: "We received a call just before 6.05pm last night (24 July) to reports of a motorbike which had collided with a bus shelter near Stead Lane in Bedlington.

"We dispatched two ambulance crews and a clinical team leader, who treated one patient with head injuries before taking them to hospital."
