Former Newcastle United and England striker Alan Shearer swapped his commentary mic for a karaoke one on Sunday, with him being captured belting out two classic tracks in a bar after the World Cup final. And Alan, we've got to applaud you on your choice of Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up and Mr Brightside by The Killers - two guaranteed crowd pleasers right there!

Ever since he hung up his boots in the 00s, Alan has been getting regular work as a pundit and commentator, with him a main-stay on Match of the Day and also giving his opinions and analysis at many major tournaments. That meant he was shoe-in for the BBC when it came to their commentary team for this year's World Cup, with him heading over the Atlantic to team up with Guy Mowbray for all of England's games and also plenty of other big ones, including the final between Spain and Argentina.

Nowhere near as entertaining as the thrilling 6-4 win for England over France in Saturday's bronze medal game, the match was decided by just one goal, with Spain winning it in extra time after Argentina were reduced to 10 men.

After a hectic few weeks, which has seen him travel all over the States, Alan unwound with colleagues, including Micah Richards, at a New York karaoke bar, with ex Man City defender Micah, who has also been with Alan on Netflix show The Rest is Football throughout the tournament, capturing footage of Alan belting out Never Gonna Give You Up and Mr Brightside and then sharing it to his Instagram story.

Alan got particularly into The Killers' anthem, with him climbing onto a table to belt out the last few lyrics as the song came to an end and everyone cheered. Ex England internationals Chris Waddle and Glen Hoddle duetted on a chart hit in the 1980s and Gazza famously covered Fog on the Tyne, so we're sure a music career isn't far away Alan!

Last week, Alan delighted staff at famous Newcastle supporters pub Peter Dillons in New York, by calling in there for a few pints to get over the disappointment of England being knocked out by Argentina in the World Cup semi final; weeks after Sam Fender joined Lewis Capaldi for a night at the Midtown Manhattan bar.
