A Mets fan earned cult hero status on Tuesday night as he downed nine hot dogs and nine beers during $1 hot dog night - before being removed by security for allegedly 'inciting a riot'

The fan apparently garnered attention during the Mets' 4-2 home win over the Cubs as he tallied his beer and hot dog consumption on a shirt that humorously read 'Bad Day to be a Glizzy.'

And towards the end of the game, things got a bit out of hand as the fan's fellow Mets supporters started hurling hot dogs at him - apparently at his request - leading security to remove him from Citi Field.

Mets fan account The 7 line wrote afterwards on X that the fan 'left without incident,' and the hot dog hero was not charged with any crime.

'The story goes… in the 9th inning everyone started throwing their extra dogs at him,' the account wrote. 'Cops had to toss him so everyone else would stop. He wasn't thrown out for having a good time...'

Another fan added, 'Just met him on the train… he said the NYPD had to kick him out for 'inciting a riot.' The police were apparently laughing though, all in good fun. He told people to throw him their hot dogs.'

Following the game, another fan apparently met the hot dog hero on the subway, and snapped a photo of him.

'Rode with this legend back to the city, got the whole story,' the fan wrote.

'Him and his girlfriend came from westchester to have a good time. Welder, blue collar guy, just wants to drink beers and eat glizzys.'

According to the New York Post, the Mets' promotion said fans were limited to four hot dogs per transaction.

However, the fan clearly found a way to circumvent that, and made himself a cult figure in the process.

The Mets host the Cubs again on Wednesday.
