Flying in economy brings out the best - and occasionally, the worst - in people.

Spare a thought for one traveller after they were stuck next to a passenger who was getting a little too comfortable on board a recent flight.

'Lady next to me on the flight started picking at the dead skin on her BARE FEET,' the disgusted traveller said in a Reddit thread. 

Pictures show the shameless passenger resting one foot on her opposite knee as she used both hands to casually pick at her toes. 

The post was met with hundreds of comments, with many suggesting they would have 'publicly shamed' the woman or confronted her in front of everyone. 

'I'm normally pretty level-headed but good lord I would have lost my mind on her. What the hell is wrong with people?' one suggested. 

'Why are there SO many people with their feet out lately like WTF. I thought after Covid we collectively would be more conscious of gross behaviours but I guess not,' another shared.

'I'd call the flight attendant and gesture towards the foot picker,' one said, laughing.

'Some people should not be allowed to leave their house. I mean come on, how disgusting can you get?' another added. 

Many said 'disgusting' people need to be called out publicly. 

'We need to normalise public shaming. Otherwise we're going to continue seeing sh*t like this. Teach your kids to have respect for others in the space they share with everyone else, or you're a sh**ty parent,' one said. 

Others said they were in disbelief at how inconsiderate some people are.

'It amazes me that people can't stop being disgusting for a couple of hours at a time. There must be someplace where this kind of s**t in public is considered OK but it's not somewhere I've been,' one revealed.

'People have gotten SO damn gross on airplanes these days. You are NOT at home,' another said, furiously.

Many revealed what they would do if they found themselves in this situation.

'Oh hell no, I would have instantly asked her to stop and if she didn't I would have grabbed a flight attendant immediately. WTF is wrong with people. That's more than mildly infuriating. That's massively infuriating,' one shared. 

'I would start coughing and gagging. That would make her stop,' another said. 

'I'd get out the barf bag and start hurling,' one joked. 

Some wondered whether the woman was 'attractive' before passing judgement, but one man quickly interjected: 'No level of attraction makes up for this behaviour. Sincerely, a woman enjoyer.'

Meanwhile, some shared similar encounters they faced.

'My ex did this in bed every night. It would literally wake me up. I would gag, he thought it was funny. So disgusting and volatile, especially doing it in public,' one said.

'Reminds me of one time at Disney while waiting for a show someone next to my dad started clipping their toe nails... Some people leave their house and act like it's their first day on Earth,' another added.

'I had to tell off a friend who I was driving around not to pick her feet in my car. She had the audacity to make a face and tsk at me! People like this are gross,' one shared.
