With summer in full swing and the kids now on their long school break, families across the UK will likely want to fill as much time as they can with trips. And while a day trip to the park is nice, many families have the opportunity to stay at an almost fantasy-like treehouse set in the British countryside.
Hoots Treehouse is nestled in the heart of Kent's countryside and provides a magical atmosphere for families to enjoy. The area surrounding the tree house has also been specially designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, being one of only 48 such places across the country.
Located just 45 minutes south of the M25, the cedar wood-clad treehouse can be an ideal getaway for both small families and couples. It's capable of accommodating up to two children and two adults, with three beds available, costing as much as £804 for a minimum of two nights.

Hoots also has its own dedicated parking area, allowing visitors travelling from even a long distance to easily access the area. While staying in the treehouse, families can make use of a gas-lit BBQ on the treehouse's decking.
Or, when temperatures turn colder in the evening, they can use the comfortable sofa next to the wood burner, with additional heating from a large radiator and a heated towel rail in the included bathroom. Other facilities in the treehouse for visitors to enjoy include Wi-Fi, a TV, a kitchen, a back garden, a private balcony, a fridge, and even children's books and toys.
However, if you would prefer to stay somewhere closer to the north, you could opt for The Oaks in Great Harwood, Lancashire, from £1,024 for seven nights. This holiday cottage can fit as many as eight guests with four bedrooms and two bathrooms, and is also pet friendly and also incluldes its own private garden.
Otherwise, you could book a stay at Chestnuts at Youlton Lodge in North Yorkshire, with seven-night stays being offered from £860. Situated near the village of Tollerton, the holiday cottage can accommodate six guests with three bedrooms and is in close proximity to pubs and shops.
Back to Hoots Treahouse, guests who previously stayed there have awarded it a near-perfect rating on Airbnb with 4.99 stars out of 144 reviews. One happy visitor wrote: "We just came back from a magical couple of nights at Hoots Treehouse. What a place! Beautiful views, surrounded by remote and gorgeous woodland with amazing nature and walks.
"And as for the treehouse itself, it was perfect. Exactly what we had imagined. Comfortable, nice and rustic design and practical. It was a lovely added touch to be off the grid as well! Lucinda was also a great host. Really helpful with any questions we had and made everything really easy and seamless. We hope to be back soon!"
Another added: "A very special and magical place. Very thoughtfully designed and everything you need. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Our son didn’t want to leave. We hope to be back. Thank you Lucinda!"
A third said: "Hoots was a magical short stay for the three of us and couldn’t have been more perfect. An idyllic escape with thoughtful touches and real quality and thought that has gone into creating such a special place."
A fourth added: "Great treehouse in a beautiful location. We loved the sauna, bbqing, toasting marshmallows by the woodland firepit and local walks and trips. Bed was extremely comfortable and house was kitted out with everything you need for a couple of nights escape. The kids loved their beds in the loft."
A fifth said: "Fairytale-like, quiet and very comfortable! The tree house is equipped with all comforts despite being off-grid and the beds are extremely comfortable. Warm welcome with milk, homemade bread, butter and jam. Communication with Lucinda was smooth and pleasant. We recommend everyone to stay in this amazing tree house!"
A sixth added: "Just book it - you won’t be disappointed! Everything has been so beautifully considered and thought through to make a relaxing, easy but extraordinary trip. We only made one outing as we just wanted to enjoy this very special place together - den building, fire pits, endless woods and amazing views and the so, so cosy treehouse. We wanted for nothing."
However, one other traveller noted: "Was a lovely stay, however it was reasonably loud one day with chainsawing taking place behind the treehouse for about 45 mins and a few crumbs left around from the last people staying there . Felt a bit less private than we had hoped, but still a very unique and lovely stay! Wonderful fresh bread."
Guests should also note that Airbnb highlights the Treehouse is not suitable for four adults due to its limited beds. This means if you're travelling in larger groups, you may have to opt for somewhere with more space.
