“90 Day Fiancé” stars Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh updated fans on her devastating battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), including shutting down a rumor that she’s hospitalized.
In an Instagram video the couple posted Monday, Singh said his wife was still able to walk and talk, and wasn’t depending completely on him or anyone.
“What you see on some pages, some people are posting that she’s on a hospital bed and unable to do anything, which is a lie, and Jenny don’t like that,” Singh said.
He also shared they were starting the process to get him a visa to go to the US. The two currently live in India, where Singh is from.
“90 Day Fiancé” stars Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh shared an update on her battle with ALS in an Instagram video they posted Monday. Instagram/sumitjenny Singh said that a rumor going around that Slatten is hospitalized and unable to care for herself is untrue. Instagram/sumitjennyHe noted that they were trying to expedite the process since Slatten’s health no longer allows her to travel solo, so he would need to be her caregiver.
“It’s not like we are staying idle, we are trying, but I believe it’s hard for Indian to get an American visa but still, we are trying our best,” he stressed. “Hoping that I will get the visa soon.”
Slatten, 68, also addressed their followers directly, with her speech noticeably slurred
“I’m OK,” she said. “I talk slow but I’m able to take care of myself … with help from him.”
Singh, 38, added, “I’m always there for her.”
Slatten’s speech was slurred but she told their followers that she was “OK” and was still able to live largely independently. Instagram/sumitjenny Slatten revealed her ALS diagnosis in May. She’s pictured here in December 2025. Brian Zak/NY PostStart your day with Page Six Daily.

In their caption, the couple thanked their “90 Day Fiancé” castmate Sarper Güven for dedicating his recent stand-up show to raise money for Slatten’s ALS battle, as well as everyone who has supported them since she announced her diagnosis in May.
“Your kindness means the world to us,” they wrote. “And to everyone who has donated to our GoFundMe, booked a Cameo, sent prayers, kind messages, and encouraging comments… thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Every little thing you do gives us hope and strength.”
Last month, the reality stars defended setting up a GoFundMe to help cover Slatten’s medical expenses. It’s raised over $99K as of publishing time, with a goal of $171.7K.
Slatten shared that she didn’t have medical insurance in India and didn’t want to be “a burden” to her three daughters in the US, while Singh said he was trying to make his wife’s life “as easy as possible.”
“Money will not heal, but it supports and makes life easier,” he explained. “We never ask for money before, we’ve been on the show, we’ve struggled a lot many times, but we never ask. And we need it now, that’s why we are just asking.”
The couple has repeatedly thanked their fans for their support, including for donating to their GoFundMe, which has raised over $99K so far. They’re pictured here last month. Instagram/sumitjenny The couple (pictured here last month) are also working on getting Sumit a visa to come to the US. Instagram/sumitjennySlatten and Singh made their “90 Day Fiancé” debut on the premiere season of “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way” back in 2019, and received significant attention due to their 30-year age difference. They got married in 2021, and their wedding in India was aired during the Season 3 finale of the show.
They’re currently starring on “90 Day: The Last Resort” Season 3, in which the two attempt to sort out their marriage issues with the help of therapy sessions alongside other struggling “90 Day Fiancé” couples.
Singh told People in May that caring for his wife through her ALS battle has given him a new perspective on love.
“Honestly, I never felt this much love, or I can love anyone this much, I used to … live for myself,” he reflected. “But from [the] last so many years, I feel like doing [things] for someone who you love gives you happiness, I think that’s what love is.”
