How will Hithium translate its success into the European residential energy storage market? 

We started our residential division in 2024 and performed very well in Middle Eastern and Asian markets last year. According to our internal data, we became one of the leading suppliers in the Middle East for the off-grid energy storage market. 

Here in Europe, we know we need to go one step further. We’re not simply replicating our success—we’re doing something more. We’re establishing localised service centres and providing local technical support and training. 

Europe as a market already has many residential storage brands. Why should European installers and distributors choose ARKVOLT? 

ARKVOLT is backed by Hithium’s battery cell technology, so we’re particularly strong in manufacturing. With ARKVOLT, we’re translating these manufacturing capabilities into Europe for local distributors and installers. It’s mainly the cell technology that sets us apart. 

Hithium is already known for large-scale storage, but residential storage is newer territory. How does that industrial-grade capability become a real advantage for residential products? 

To be honest, the same standards required for large-scale energy storage—such as safety, durability, consistency, and lifecycle performance—are exactly what residential users need. We bring that industrial-grade discipline into home energy, but in a more compact and user-friendly way. 

What are Hithium’s ambitions for Europe with the ARKVOLT product? 

ARKVOLT starts as a battery storage system, but our ambition is much bigger. We want to build it into a trusted residential energy platform that connects storage, solar, smart energy management, and future energy services for European households. 

This includes not only batteries but also heat pumps, EV charging, and smart home devices—connecting them all together. For one individual home, you have one battery, but we’re trying to connect all homes together as virtual power plants. 

Aside from the technology, how are you planning to ensure the success of the ARKVOLT product? 

Beyond the battery itself and these components, there are quite a few factors needed to successfully promote these products. Right now in Europe, because it’s a very mature market, competition is becoming very fierce. 

We’re not only marketing through sales channels—we’re trying to influence end-user decisions through advertising. We’re also establishing local service centres, so if anything goes wrong with the battery or system, customers can come to our office to resolve their problems very quickly. 

Thirdly, I think our biggest advantage is the evolution of technology. Right now, lithium-ion batteries are the leading technology—everyone, every battery cell manufacturer, is using them. But technology is developing. Perhaps in two or three years, the technology may move to sodium-ion or even solid-state batteries. We have this kind of strength and advantage compared to other manufacturers from China. 

Is there more competition in the residential energy storage market than the grid-scale storage market? 

For these two sectors, we’re facing a lot of competition, but it’s totally different competition. In residential, we’re facing more competition from battery pack manufacturers from China and perhaps some local brands. 

For large-scale, I think we face more competition with the traditional energy industry. It’s totally different.
