LUGANSK, August 24. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces’ losses in killed and wounded, including foreign mercenaries, totaled 9,900 personnel over the past week, military expert Andrey Marochko reported.

He stated that fighters of Russia’s Battlegroup East inflicted the heaviest losses on the enemy.

"The enemy’s combat and irrecoverable losses for the week totaled about 9,850 militants and mercenaries, which is 265 more than in the previous reporting period. The greatest losses in manpower were inflicted on Ukrainian armed formations in the area of responsibility of the Battlegroup East, which operates in the Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye Regions," he wrote on his VKontakte page after analyzing data released by the Russian Defense Ministry.

Marochko added that over the course of the week, the Russian military also destroyed a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter aircraft, 8,477 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), two uncrewed boats, 12 marine vessels, three tanks, a Vampire multiple rocket launcher, three Grad multiple rocket launchers, 52 field artillery weapons, 46 electronic warfare and counter-battery stations, as well as more than 600 various enemy combat vehicles.
