MINSK, August 24. /TASS/. A ten-for-ten prisoner swap between Russia and Ukraine was held in Belarus’s southeasternmost Gomel Region, the Pervy Informatsionny television channel of Belarus reported.

The report says that the mechanism, allowing ten Ukrainian citizens and ten Russian servicemen to return home from captivity, was activated on instructions from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

The humanitarian mission was conducted in strict compliance with the norms of the international law, the report says.
