MOSCOW, September 21. /TASS/. There has been no progress in the Ukrainian settlement so far, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in response to a TASS question.

According to him, Russia hopes to resume trilateral talks on Ukraine.

Peskov noted that massive Ukrainian attacks during the elections in Russia were aimed at disrupting the voting but failed to have an effect.

TASS has compiled the key statements by the Kremlin spokesman.

Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to meet with faction leaders, with the Kremlin to announce the format of the meeting later: "Naturally, he does this every time; we will let you know in due course what format the meeting will take this time."

Massive Ukrainian attacks during the elections in Russia were aimed at disrupting the voting but failed to have an effect: "It is sabotage. It is also an attempt to disrupt these elections. It had no effect."

Russia remains open to resuming trilateral negotiations on Ukraine: "We hope that we will ultimately move toward resuming trilateral negotiations."

There has been no progress in the Ukrainian settlement so far: "No, there has been no progress."

Russia continues the special military operation to achieve its goals: "As for moving forward with the resumption of trilateral talks, we are open. Yes, we are continuing the special military operation, our military personnel are working to achieve the goals that have been set."

The Kremlin works with all reporters, and Russia does not restrict media access as the White House does: "We work with all reporters; that is not our practice here."

The nature of how the US works with US media is its own internal affair, in which Russia does not interfere: "The matter of how Americans handle their [media] is none of our business. We do not concern ourselves with it, nor do we like it when others meddle in our affairs."

Information cooperation between Russia and China is developing very positively at various levels: "[Cooperation between Russia and China] is developing very positively -- involving our leading media outlets and media holdings, as well as the Presidential Staff and the Foreign Ministry. Information-related interaction is going very well."

Global news agencies are currently facing unprecedented challenges amid the global transformation: "Global news agencies are facing unprecedented challenges: on the one hand, they contend with the rapid pace of technological development, on the other hand, they deal with the aftermath of international transformation.

"The entire world is currently going through a very difficult period, with the global economy, political system and information, as well as international relations all undergoing transformation."

News agencies are currently performing one of the most important functions as they fight lies in the modern era of infowars and fake news: "This is where news agencies naturally play a very important role, indeed, a crucial one: they fight the lies that are regularly spread through global information flows."

The global situation is developing in such a way that fake news and information wars are not going away and, on the contrary, will only intensify: "Evidently, all these information wars and all this fake news will not disappear anytime soon. They will continue to evolve and develop."
