The roof of a town centre supermarket has collapsed. The roof of the Iceland building in High Street, March, has collapsed this afternoon (Tuesday, July 28).

Cambridgeshire Police is currently at the scene and a cordon has been put in place. A police spokesperson said: “We were called at about 2.55pm today with reports of a collapsed roof at Iceland, High Street, March. We are currently at the scene.”

No one is reportedly injured and the building next door has been evacuated. A police spokesperson added: “The fire service is attending. Officers are assisting with a cordon and awaiting structural engineers to arrive.”

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue, Iceland and Fenland District Council have been approached for further comment.
