Police have closed a Cambridgeshire takeaway amid concerns about drug dealing and anti-social behaviour. Peterborough Magistrates’ Court issued a three-month order closing Bake Me 1, in Gladstone Street, Millfield, on Tuesday (July 21).

The order is in place until October 21. It followed a successful application from the city’s Central Neighbourhood Policing Team which cited concerns about drug dealing activity and anti-social behaviour.

Two men from Peterborough were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug last year and have since been released on bail. An investigation is ongoing.

PC Chris Ogden said: “Drug dealing and associated anti-social behaviour can cause misery for local communities. Closure orders provide respite for local people who have been affected by these issues.

“I urge anyone with information about potential breaches to report it to us so we can ensure the order is adhered to and the issues are addressed.”

Failure to comply with the order is a criminal offence which could result in imprisonment for up to three months, a fine, or both. Anyone with information about the order being breached should contact police online or call 101.
