A 14-year-old boy riding a motorcycle was killed in a road accident on the Anna Nagar link road in Tiruchi in the early hours of Friday (July 3, 2026). A 16-year-old boy, who was on the pillion, was injured and is under treatment.

The police identified the deceased as N. Mohammed Kaisar, a Class IX student and a resident of Marsingpet in the city. The injured teenager, S. Ravikumar, fractured his left hand in the accident.

The police said Mohamed Kaisar was riding the motorcycle, with his friend Ravikumar on the pillion, in a rash and negligent manner and hit a cement wall along the Anna Nagar link road around 4.40 a.m. 

Kaiser was injured on his head, face, and left hand, while Ravikumar fractured his left hand, the sources said. Both were taken to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital for treatment. Kaisar died of injuries while undergoing treatment. 

The Traffic South Investigation wing has registered a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 125 (a) (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 106 (1) (causing death by negligence) read with section 199(A) of the Motor Vehicles Act.
