A hefty discount on some handy headphones.

If you've been after a pair of capable studio headphones for gaming, content creation or otherwise, then the Rode NTH-100s might have flown under the radar a little against other options from brands such as Beyerdynamic or Audio Technica. We've quietly been a big fan of these cans since they launched a couple of years ago at £149, but with this current deal, you can save 40 percent on their retail price from a big online retailer. At the moment, they're just £89 from Amazon, making for quite the bargain, and their best price in a few weeks to boot.

You'll find the NTH-100s in the 'Best of the Rest' section in our list of the best PC gaming headsets as they aren't technically a headset - after all, there's no microphone, so you'll need to invest in a separate one for content creation purposes or for keeping up with your teammates' comms. Nonetheless, these Rode cans impressed us with how comfortable they are, owing to a plush headband, reasonable clamping force, and deep memory foam earcups. Plus, the earcups have Rode's 'CoolTech' gel in them so your ears don't get too warm with extended use, and the headband has Rode's 'Fitlock' system that means you can lock the headband in place once you've found a comfortable fit so you aren't left constantly adjusting the headband every time you wear them.

As for audio, we found them to have a warmer sound than the dearer Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X from the 40mm drivers inside, plus carry plenty of detail that makes them a strong fit for gaming and critical listening to your favourite music. Moreover, in spite of being a set of closed back cans, the width of the NTH-100's audio is excellent with fantastic imaging, making them an ideal choice for mixing and even for FPS gaming where width and precision is vital. Connectivity is purely wired, and these cans have a low 32 ohm impedance, so they're easy to drive with anything from a small USB-C DAC to even the headphone jack of your MacBook.

Before I go, a handy anecdotal thing with these Rode headphones. Rode is offering a lifetime warranty with them, and has since November 2022, which was upgraded from the two years it originally shipped with, which is quite a handy thing for peace of mind.
